Kleen Sweep is owned and run by Valerie Hixon, a Bitterroot Valley native who has been cleaning new construction since before most of the valley's current subdivisions were platted.
The person behind the flag list
Valerie grew up in Stevensville, at the north end of the Bitterroot Valley, and has spent more than two decades walking into buildings the week before they are handed over. She started in construction cleaning working for a local builder who needed someone who could make a finished house look finished, and founded Kleen Sweep in 2002 when that builder's competitors started calling too.
Her crews have cleaned everything from log homes in Darby to BSL-4 laboratory space at the NIH Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton. The approach is the same on every job: clean it properly, protect the finishes, and leave the contractor a written list of anything that still needs their attention.
Valerie is also a familiar face on Main Street in Stevensville, where she founded and ran Morning Star Caffeine and Cuisine for more than a decade. Running a café and running a cleaning company turn out to need the same two things: showing up early, and caring how the place looks when people walk in.
She still walks every final clean herself. If you hire Kleen Sweep, the person who quotes the job is the person who checks it before the keys change hands.

A missed touch-up, a hairline in a tile, a window with a scratch under the sticker. We tape it and write it down so the builder fixes it before the walkthrough.

Limestone etches, copper spots, oiled oak hazes, limewash lifts. The right product for each finish is on the truck before we arrive.
We know how a schedule actually moves
Trades run late and inspections move. We plan rough, final and touch-up cleans so the building is clean on the day it has to be.
Local, insured and the same faces on every job
Kleen Sweep runs a core crew of six, most of whom have been with the company for more than five years. Everyone is trained on specialty finishes, jobsite safety and the flag system before they lead a clean. The company carries general liability insurance and provides certificates on request.
